Finally Returning... No, for real this time.

It's been years since I've been to this blog and I'm positive there are unanswered questions in my comments. I meant to come back sooner, but life has been such a roller coaster of distractions that eventually I unplugged from it and accepted that I was not able to make the time anymore. I've spent the last couple days skimming around it, answering any questions I can and polishing the theme for a new look.
Long story short, I have switched jobs, moved to a new city, completely failed as a modern thriller writer, and my kids are now in double digit ages.

Let me just say that raising a teenager is hard but whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right? Or is that it thins your hair out and takes years off your life? Anyway, it's an experience in patience.
I stopped writing for a while, even though I didn't want to. I picked up a very old project I started in high school and started building the world it took place in. It's a fantasy world I had created when I first explored writing.

My plan was to turn it into one of those million Table-Top Role Playing Games that was becoming popular. I have been playing those since the late 80’s, mostly Dungeons & Dragons, a little RoleMaster during the 90’s and early 2000’s.

I wanted to create something. I could not completely stop the desire  to write, draw, or create. So I gave in and spent most of 2016 to 2017 just writing an almanac of all the things of the world in my old high school novel.

Then it hit me last year. I'm always starting new things when a project gets shelved. I have a whole world, which I could publish 3rd party as a D&D setting, but it might be bigger if I had a novel published, too. So I went back to the old high school manuscript, and took all the outlines of spin offs, prequels, and sequels, and started sorting and connecting everything into an epic story.

So here we are. I wrote half of the first novel during the last NaNaWriMo event, and I'm still working on it. I'm also back into running a D&D campaign using the 5th edition. I'm in full 100% fantasy mode now and I'm done trying to do anything in other genres.

The point of this post is that I'm going to document the adventures my friends play through and write them up as little short stories. Once they're clean enough to be worth reading, I'll post them on the blog as a fanfic styles series.

We're playing 5th edition, but I'm using a classic setting for the campaign, Mystara. Some players of the 80’s will know it, and that it's a very detailed and huge setting that left a lot of the world up to the Dungeon Master to create. It's still one of my favorite settings, not always popular by the new players. I also picked it because none of the 8+ players at my table have ever heard of it so they're in for a ride and ready to explore.

Here's a list of the characters that have joined so far. There's a possibility that a couple more players might join in the future, but for now, here are the races and classes.

Twilight Pixie Moon Druid
Eladrin War Wizard
Goliath Man-at-Arms Warden
Human Devotion Paladin for He Who Was
Elven Revenant Assassin Rogue
Human Trickster Rogue
Tabaxi (Rakasta) Hunter Ranger
Dwarven Valor Bard
Noble Dragonborn Sorceress
Hound Lupin Fighter

Starting in March, I'll be updating the blog with their backstories. I hope everyone enjoys it. And thank you for reading!
